What We Value
Tables – “Are you prepared to make room?.......Really?”
With out you we’re not us, there’s a seat for you. We laugh hard, loud, often and there is nothing better than a table with good friends.
There is something sacred in gathering and we will gather and do life together for every reason possible. We do life together– the good, the bad, and the ugly. We love sharing life together.
1 Thessalonians 2:8- “so we cared for you. Because we loved you so much, we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well”
Transformation – ”If you’re coming to stay the same, you’re in the wrong place”
Jesus called out to the broken, the weary, and those burned out on religion. No matter how hard each of us may try, we can not live as we should in our own power, but we don’t have to. So, come as you are and learn to live in Christ through the transformational power of the Holy Spirit. Experience God at work through personal devotions in the Word of God, prayer, small groups, worship with other believers, and missional living. It is our desire to be transformed into Christ’s image, and never attempt to transform Him into ours.
Romans 12:2: “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God,what is good and acceptable and perfect
Seriously Fun – “We take the gospel seriously but not ourselves”
Imagine the joyful abandon of a child encountering Jesus, full of trust and excitement. We hope to be a place you look forward to coming to, not a taxing, boring religious hobby. We will laugh, celebrate and enjoy this faith together. As Romans 12:15 says, “rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep.” We will also remember that we worship a Holy God, we take seriously Jesus’ sacrifice to save us from sin and death and we believe in the supremacy of scripture. It is the Gospel we take seriously, not ourselves.
John 2 , Proverbs 17:22, Psalm 126:2, 1 Corinthians 11:27-31
Courageous Obedience – “Obedience to Christ is worth the risk”
God values faithful obedience. The world values success. We choose to obey God, which means we are willing to take risks without guaranteed outcomes, even if it looks like failure in the world’s eyes. We strive to make decisions based on the principle modeled in Acts 15:28, “It seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us.” We are willing to try new things and will end a good thing, to do something better. When mistakes occur, we will strive to learn and grow. We will hold method, position, and control loosely, to obey courageously.
Matthew 16:15-23 & Proverbs 24:16
upside down & inside out leadership – “Never too early to start and always too early to quit.”
Jesus flipped the world’s model of leadership upside down when he taught us that you have to serve to lead (John 13:1-17). A godly leader is continually being transformed and empowered through the Holy Spirit from the inside out. We value the discovery, cultivation and employment of these gifts and will courageously empower new leaders to serve in real leadership roles. We will keep our eyes open and stay curious to spot potential in others, generously contribute to their development, and send them out with open hands if God calls them away.
