Pete & Libby Myszka - Overland Missions

Pete and Libby Myszka work with Overland Missions in Zambia, Africa. Pete has been working as the chief engineer since early 2011. He and Libby were married in 2015 and immediately set up their home together in Zambia. They just had their son, Silas, on January 4th and are now a family of three!

The vision of Overland Missions is to mobilize people to remote locations with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. This means we often minister in locations with bumpy roads, no electricity, and very little infrastructure. We follow Christ's example of going after the one lost sheep that takes extra time and effort to reach. Libby has a variety of roles including being the worship director and administrative assistant as well as developing her own ministry with young adults and vulnerable women. Pete's role includes outfitting and maintaining the fleet of expedition trucks, consulting on and customizing staff 4x4 vehicles for bush ministry, and design and project management of construction both on the existing main missions base as well as the new remote properties under development. Both are also involved in teaching their respective specialties to the Advanced Missions Training students as well as Zambian disciples.

Pete grew up in Germantown, Wisconsin. He went to the University of Wisconsin and graduated in 2009 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He worked for a research lab for the UW Department of Engineering Physics while a student and as staff after graduation. He joined Overland Missions as full-time staff in Zambia in early 2011. Libby grew up in Rockford, Illinois. She went to Indiana Wesleyan University and graduated in 2010 with degrees in Music as well as in Business Administration. After graduation, she became the worship director at Life Church in Roscoe, IL, and continued there until she and Pete were married at the end of 2015.

Both Pete and Libby grew up in Christian families and gave their lives to Christ at a young age. They both developed an interest in international travel and foreign culture as well as a passion for the global Church through short term missions trips during their high school and college years. They found a natural progression into full time overseas missions through years of involvement and volunteering with their local churches and campus ministries. They are both passionate about using their God-given skills to serve the global Church and bring life and hope to the spiritually lost.
