Expecting - Mighty God

I wonder what went through Mary's head those nine months while she was expecting. Any first-time parent is flooded with expectations, but this was no ordinary child. Mary and Joseph were expecting the Son of God. At the same time, the Jewish people had been expecting a savior for hundreds of years. But they were expecting a conquering king to rescue them from their enemies, not a little baby.

Expectancy is in the air at Christmas. Many of us are expecting visitors. We may be expecting to receive certain gifts or certain reactions to the gifts we give. We put expectations on our selves and others to have a perfect Christmas. But what happens when our expectations are left unmet? What happens when God answers our deepest needs, in ways we didn't expect?
